Eating healthy and ecologically has become a popular objective in recent years. However, it requires a lot of time and planning thus making it difficult for people to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

ChackchouScan aims to streamline the search of healthy recipes and products. Leveraging the [OpenFoodFacts](https://world.openfoodfacts.org/) database, the user can find an [EcoScore](https://docs.score-environnemental.com/) rating that corresponds to the impact on the environment of the product from start to finish.

What if a computer could detect automatically if you had a disease. Of course physicians are trained to do that job, but like any person even the best they are bound to make mistakes. Algorithms on the othere hand could on theory minimize that error rate.



Our project didn't aim to outdo past works but to have a sneak peek into what it entails.

During my Bachelor in Physics, I was tasked to simulate the Heisenberg model onto a 2D lattice for my internship.

Monte Carlo computational simulation take advantage of randomness grounded in  the real physical rules of the world in order to extrapolate what would happen after some time from a starting configuration.

Through this project and simulations coded in Python, I was able to expose and discover the presence of Kousterlitz-Thouless transition, which are a topological phase transition with the presence of vortices. The discovery of this type of transition was awarded the Nobel Prize of Physics in 2016.

Using Monte Carlo methods, this project aimed to perform computational simulation to observe a ferromagnet's behaviour on a 2D lattice.
